Irene Duncan, 104, of Marshall, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at Highland Home Residential Care in Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Rev. Randy Shannon will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to Memorial Maintenance Trust or the American Cancer Society.

Born June 19, 1900, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Edward Bernard Shannon and Amelia Fink Shannon. On Sept. 15, 1923, she married Claybourne Nathaniel Duncan, who preceded her in death April 16, 1974. She had lived in Saline County her entire life and was a homemaker. She was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church in Napton, where she served as a deacon and was a member of Presbyterian Women of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. She was a member of The Monday Club, Fitzgibbon Hospital Auxiliary, Sorosis Club and for over 75 years a member of Patsy Gregg Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, where she held numerous offices including chaplain and regent.

Survivors include one son, Ralph Shannon Duncan and wife Ruth of Overland Park; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Randall Duncan and wife Nancy; three brothers, Harold, Alvin and Walter Shannon; and one sister, Anna Kathryn Hutcherson.
