Albert Mizer, 90, of Carlsbad, Calif., formerly of Saline County, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at Glen Brook Nursing Center in Carlsbad.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, at Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home in Marshall. Rev. Wayne Doolin will officiate. Organist will be Ramona Bullington. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall.
Born May 30, 1914, in Saline County, he was the son of the late Leonard H. Mizer Sr. and Mary Ellen VanBuskirk Mizer. On Oct. 14, 1935, in Marshall, he married Jennie E. Class, who survives of the home. He worked for Ford Motor Company for 31 years at the Claycomo plant in Kansas City before his retirement. He and his wife lived in Kansas City for 58 years before moving to Carlsbad in 2004. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Kansas City.
Additional survivors include one son, Wayne A. Mizer of Kansas City; one daughter, Joyce A. Ameel of Carlsbad, Calif.; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers.
