Joseph William "Bill" Lock Jr., 80, of Waverly, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at Carroll House in Carrollton.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Carrollton. Rev. Ken Criqui will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton, with a Rosary at 8:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Carrollton. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Cemetery or St. Mary's Church in the care of Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton MO, 64633.
Born Oct. 18, 1924, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Joseph W. Lock Sr. and Marie Roetheli Lock. On March 29, 1951, in Carrollton, he married Evelyn Cristeen Tyhurst, who preceded him in death March 6, 2004. He attended Mercy Academy in Marshall, Callaway School and St. Mary's School in Carrollton. He was a farmer in Carrollton and Waverly and had served on the Waverly Water Board. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Carrollton and was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus.
Survivors include one son Steven Neil Lock of Higginsville; three daughters, Carol Ann Ross of New Market, Iowa, Catherine Lynn Lock of Carrollton and Phyllis Jean Bargfrede of Dunlap, Ill.; one brother, C.R. "Bob" Lock of Carrollton; one sister, Loretta Luse of Kansas City; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Herb Lock, Ted Lock and Bert Lock; three sisters, Clara Sweeney, Lola Martin and Laura Duvall; and one great-grandson.
