Margaret Horgan, 93, of Slater, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, at Slater Presbyterian Church. Rev. Pam Sebastian and Rev. John Swisher will officiate. Organist Bethany Weiker will play "Church in the Wildwood" and "Amazing Grace." Pallbearers will be Gerald Kitchen, Brandon Burks, Sammy Krog, James Burford, Terry Vogel and Sam Krog. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Slater Presbyterian Church in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born Oct. 22, 1911, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Charley V. and Nellie Wood Swisher. On Aug. 12, 1941, in Slater, she married William A. Horgan, who preceded her in death Aug. 26, 1988. She was a member of Slater Presbyterian Church, where she served as church librarian, and the Slater Garden Club. She attended Missouri Valley College in Marshall and was a retired elementary school teacher.
Survivors include one son, William V. Horgan of Slater; and four grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Simmons.
