Kenneth C. Dennis, 80, of Shawnee, Kan., died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Shawnee Mission, Kan.
Cremation. Graveside services will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Maple Hill Funeral Home in Kansas City, Kan.
Born Sept. 16, 1924, in Marshall, he was the son of the late John Auftin Dennis and Lena Jewel Wyatt Dennis. He married Alice Dennis, who survives of the home. He lived in the Marshall area for most of his life and was employed by the U.S. Postal Service. He was a decorated sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Additional survivors include one son, Joseph Dennis of Belton; one daughter, Joan Stanton of Olathe, Kan.; three brothers, John Dennis of Marshall, Lester Dennis of St. Louis and C.W. Dennis of Bucyrus, Ohio; two grandsons; one great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
