Tommie L. Wilkins, 75, of Slater, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, at Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Marshall. Rev. Rich Shugert will officiate. Organist Ramona Bullington will accompany Janet Bryan as she sings "Sweet Little Jesus Boy." Pallbearers will be Frank Guthrie, Mandy Guthrie, David Guthrie, Dawn Wilkins, Roy Hibbard and Milton Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Lester Bailey, Dr. K. Thomas Papreck and Malachi Page. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Slater City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church Building Fund or The Living Center.
Born July 31, 1929, in Weinert, Texas, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Eunice Medley Owens. She was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and had returned to the Slater area in 1988, from Talladega, Ala.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas O. Wilkins of Clarksville, Tenn., and Marvin Wilkins of Falkner, Miss.; one daughter, Brenda Guthrie of Slater; two sisters, Rossie Wells of Fort Smith, Ark., and Jesse Faye Kiersey of Booneville, Ark.; and four grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister.
