Homer F. Wright, 93, of Marshall, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, at First Baptist Church in Marshall. Rev. N. Paul Callahan will officiate. Pallbearers will be Gene Schroeder, Michael Wright, Larry Price, Jim Tyre, Roger Erickson and Ron Spencer. Honorary pallbearers will be John Harvey, Ed Weinreich, Lawrence Leimkuehler and Claud "Hank" Hankins. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorial are suggested to First Baptist Church Building Fund or Saline County Fairgrounds.

Born March 12, 1911, in Dennis, Kan., he was the son of the late Adolphus Ross Wright and Richie Valentine Artz Wright. On March 11, 1933, he married Irene Ferguson, who preceded him in death April 18, 2002. He had lived in Saline County since 1915 and was a retired farmer. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Marshall Senior Center. He enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include one son, Fred Wright and wife Beverly of rural Marshall; one daughter-in-law, Kaye Wright of rural Marshall; two brothers, Adolphus Ross Wright Jr. and wife Ruth of Edwards Kan., and Harold Dean Wright and wife Alice of Godfrey, Ill.; one sister, Laura Louise Jenkin and husband Ted of Kybunga, South Australia; one brother-in-law, Paul Ahrens of Marshall; five grandchildren, Michael Wright and wife Christa of Parkville, Cindy Schroeder and husband Gene of rural Marshall, Kristie Price and husband Larry of Marshall, Kathy Tyre and husband Jimmy of rural Slater and Paige Erickson and husband Roger of Haskell, Okla.; two stepgrandchildren, Ron Spencer of Rockwall, Texas, and Amy Spencer of San Francisco, Calif.; eight great-grandchildren, Justin Schroeder, Jason Price and wife Lori, Lorin Price, Seth Tyre, Katie Tyre, Wade Tyre, Adam Erickson and Colby Erickson; one stepgreat-granddaughter, Sarah Spencer; former daughter-in-law, Ann Wright of rural Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Charles "Bud" Wright; one brother, Kenneth Wright; and three sisters, Bernice Holland, Mae Ahrens and Bette Nord.
