Robert F. Short, 62, of Marshall, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, at his home.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, at Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home in Marshall. Rev. Russ Johnson officiated. Organist Ramona Bullington played "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Pallbearers were Harry Arndt, Mark Hamrick, John Shatto, John W. Short, Rodney Short and Nicholas Sloan. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association in care of Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home.

Born Dec. 25, 1941, in Saline County, he was the son of the late Jesse Short and Mable Lomenick Short. On Dec. 17, 1967, in Marshall, he married Ethel O. Fischbeck, who survives of the home. He was a resident of Saline County for all of his life and had been employed at ConAgra for 38 years. He was a member of Gill Memorial Baptist Church.

Additional survivors include one son, Robert F. Short Jr. of Columbia; one brother, John Short of Slater; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and one great-granddaughter.
