Roma Belle Williams, 74, of Marshall, died Sunday, Dec. 5, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, at Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home in Marshall. Rev. Wayne Doolin and Rev. Vernon Maxted will officiate. Organist Ramona Bullington will play "Amazing Grace," "Just a Little Talk With Jesus" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Pallbearers will be Danielle Cole, Jimmy Cole, Chris Davis, Franklin Davis Jr., Timmy Davis, Ashley Ragland, John Ragland, Crystal Williams and Lester Williams III. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Caton, Franklin Davis Sr., Phillip Hayes, Marvin Lee Hunt, Tom Kelsey, Franklin Williams and John Williams. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall.
Born Feb. 26, 1930, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late John Samuel Short and Minnie Belle Hunt Short. On June 2, 1951, in Marshall, she married Lester H. Williams Sr., who survives of the home. She was a lifelong resident of Marshall and a member of First Baptist Church in Marshall.
Additional survivors include four daughters, Beckie Davis of Marshall, Vickie Williams of the home, Ramona Ragland and Alesia Cole, both of Marshall; twin sister Oma Rose Buchholz of Kansas City; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Lester "Buster" H. Williams Jr.; one infant brother and one infant great-granddaughter.
