Wiley named to represent Saline County cities in Pioneer Trails RPC

Wednesday, December 1, 2004

At the first of its planned annual meetings, the Pioneer Trails Regional Planning Commission (RPC) Tuesday evening designated representatives of cities for the four-county area.

The position of representing Saline County cities fell to Vivian Wiley, former mayor of Sweet Springs, who had previously held the city representative position.

Wiley volunteered for the three-year position, though no other nominations were made for Saline County.

Wiley said she has yet to meet with cities yet to discuss what role the RPC can play in developing Saline County.

"She's done a good job as far as I know," RPC Chairman Mike Dillon said of Wiley, though he looked for other nominations because an alternate for the position was needed.

Dillon also suggested Wiley put together a meeting with city officials she represents as soon as possible. He suggested an alternate may be nominated and selected at such a meeting.
