Helen Harris, 96, of Houstonia, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at Houstonia Community Church. Rev. Robert Fry will officiate. Pallbearers will be Joe Blackburn, Steve Reid, Everett Blackburn, Jim Reid, J.D. Gregory and Eddie Minor. Honorary pallbearers will be Wallace Smiley, Rollin Boughton, Lawrence Hand, Smith Higgins, Kenneth Ryan, Murray Wood and Rev. Robert Kessler. Burial with graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Houstonia Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Moore Funeral Home in Houstonia. Memorials are suggested to Houstonia Community Church or the charity of the family's choice.
Born Jan. 15, 1908, in Houstonia, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Willia Yokeley Schondelmaier. On Oct. 20, 1928, in Warrenton, she married John T. Harris, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Houstonia Community Church. She attended Range Line Presbyterian Church until Houstonia Community Church was formed. She was a member of the Martha's Guild. She was a high school graduate and attended two years at Central Missouri State University. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters-in-law, Marilyn Harris of Bois D'Arc and Barbara Harris of Topeka, Kan.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four nephews and one niece.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, John David Harris and James Allen Harris; and three brothers.
