Sandra A. "Sandy" Harris, 63, of rural Gilliam, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at High Hill Cemetery north of Slater. Rev. Chris Weber and Terry Sandwith will officiate. Pallbearers will be Charlie Guthrie, David Jones, Tom Boehner, Phil Wymore, William Horgan and Ernest Smith. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Memorials are suggested to the Slater Public Library, High Hill Cemetery or Chapter HQ of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.
Born Feb. 16, 1941, in Streeter, N.D., she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Bertha Schmidt Iszler. On Nov. 23, 1962, in Canoga Park, Calif., she married F. Neale Harris, who survives of the home. She was a member and past president of Chapter HQ of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and a member of the Slater Public Library board. She attended Gilliam Baptist Church. She retired in February 2003 as secretary to the superintendent of Slater public schools.
Additional survivors include one son, Joel Harris of Gilliam; two daughters, Leann Thomas of Wilson, N.C., and Carla Huffstutler of Peachtree City, Ga.; three brothers, Marlon Iszler of Portland, Ore., Glenn Iszler of Pittsburg, Calif., and Randy Iszler of Hermiston, Ore.; two sisters, Arlene Wood of Redding, Calif., and Linda Osko of Salem, Ore.; four grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.
