Maureen Butler, 59, of rural Gilliam, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. William W. Harlow will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice.
Born July 13, 1945, in Wheatland, Wyo., she was the daughter of the late Richard Thomas and Esther Kirby Thomas. On Sept. 24, 1983, she married Paul Michael Butler, who survives of the home. She had lived in Saline County most of her life and was a 1963 graduate of Marshall High School. She had worked for Wilson Foods in Marshall for 17 years and then at Legends Garment Factory for over seven years. She had belonged to 4-H and was a member of First Christian Church.
Additional survivors include four sons, Ricky Williams of Blackwater, Billy North of Carthage, Roy Lee North of Sedalia, and Michael Butler of the home; one daughter, Lee Ann Wheeler of Willow Springs; one stepson, David Butler of Kirksville; two stepdaughters, Lisa Butler of Kansas City and Tammy Butler of Mexico; one sister, Nelda Nichols of rural Marshall; one brother, Kirby Thomas of Boonville; 17 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
