Erma L. Ludwig, 86, of Gilliam, died Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Cremation. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at the fellowship hall of Gilliam Baptist Church. Rev. David Van Horn will officiate. Burial will be in Gilliam Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Big Bend Retreat or Salem United Church of Christ in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born March 1, 1918, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Edward W. and Anna Louise Peuster Schmidt. On March 2, 1937, she married Orville Butcher, who preceded her in death. On June 30, 1957, in Gilliam, she married Fred Ludwig, who survives of the home. She was a member of Gilliam United Methodist Church. She attended Salem United Church of Christ and its women's guild.
Additional survivors include one son, Kenneth Butcher of Slater; one daughter, Mary Ann Palmer of Marshall; one sister; Esther Louise Sontag of St. Louis; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
In addition th her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by one brother.
