Frances Wilcoxon Heim, 88, of rural Sweet Springs, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004, at Sweet Springs Villa.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Sweet Springs. Rev. Tim Biesemeyer officiated. Pallbearers were Vernon Sylvester, Dude Sims, John Charles, David Long, John Willard and Earl Fain Jr. Soloist Beth Perkins and organist Edna Rhe Nelson performed "How Firm a Foundation" and "How Great Thou Art." Burial was in Fairview Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Wesley United Methodist Church.
Born July 13, 1916, in Odessa, she was the daughter of the late Daniel S. Wilcoxon and Mary Parkhurst Wilcoxon. On July 30, 1944, she married W.J. "Bob" Heim, who preceded her in death Sept. 19, 2004. She had lived in Sweet Springs most of her life and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Sweet Springs. She was a graduate of Odessa High School and Central Missouri State Teachers College. She was a school teacher in several rural communities and Higginsville. She retired from the Sweet Springs school district.
Survivors include one son, Dan Heim of rural Sweet Springs; one daughter, Ruth Ann Heim of Overland Park, Kan.; one grandson; four stepgrandchildren; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
