Travis D. Lunn, 10, of rural Slater, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, at First Baptist Church in Slater. Rev. Jim Long will officiate. Organist Bethany Weiker will play "Amazing Grace." Pallbearers will be Gene Neff, Lance Neff, Paul Alberson and David Kruger. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, Kan. Memorials are suggested to the Orearville school basketball program in the care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born July 30, 1994, in Kansas City, Kan., he was the son of James Bailey, who survives, and Karen Lunn, who survives of Kansas City, Kan. He was in fourth grade at Orearville R-4 School, where he participated in the basketball program. He also participated in the Team Kid program at First Baptist Church in Slater. He was raised by his uncle, William "B.B." Lunn, who survives of rural Slater.
Additional survivors include one stepmother, Rachel Wiley of Kansas City, Kan.; one sister, Christy Bailey of rural Slater; maternal grandmother, Iretha Lunn of rural Slater; paternal grandmother, Dee Phiefer of Slater; uncles Clarence Lunn and Brian Lunn; and two aunts, Theresa McIntosh and Diana Ellifrits.
