Betty Louise Kirby, 68, of Centerview, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Pilot Grove. Pallbearers will be Darrell Slaughter, Bryan Slaughter, Scott Slaughter, John Fletcher, Chris Schouten and Korey Kirby. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Peninsula Cemetery near Blackwater. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
Born May 24, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Christine Cornine Stone. On Aug. 16, 1953, in Marshall, she married Harold Kirby, who survives of the home. She was a member of the Heath Creek Baptist Church, and lived around Marshall and Marshall Junction most of her life. She had been a restaurant manager for three restaurants and was a nurse at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall for several years. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking and quilting.
Additional survivors include three daughters, Christine Krewson and husband Robert of Centerview, Charlene Kirby of Centerview, and Cheryl Conrad and husband James of Marshall Junction; two sons, Charles Kirby and wife Marsha of Longwood, and Roy Kirby and wife Katherine of Prairie Home; one sister, Virginia Dewitt of Longwood; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Henry Stone.
