Lady Owls stopped at Helias
JEFFERSON CITY -- The Marshall volleyball team's four-match win streak came to a crashing halt Thursday at Helias.
The senior-laden Lady Crusaders (22-2) controlled play up front during a 25-8, 25-14 victory. It was the worst losing margin of the season of the Lady Owls, who were limited to 10 kills while committing 14 attack errors.
Sophomore Rachel Keller had four spikes and 25 of Marshall's 68 digs. Senior Melissa Cook made 24 saves and juniors Abby Perkins and Ashley McCracken each had 11. The Lady Owls didn't get an ace or a block during the contest.
Marshall (10-6) heads to the Carrollton Quad Saturday to face Chillicothe, Richmond and the host Lady Trojans.
