Georgia Mae Neece, 85, of Sweet Springs, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, at Sweet Springs Villa in Sweet Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at First Christian Church in Sweet Springs. Rev. Randy Shannon will officiate. Pallbearers will be Eric Neece, Michael Vaught, Derek Vaught, Mark Hoffman, Glen LaRue and Marty Elsea. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs. An Eastern Star Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may call after 3 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church or Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 90.
Born May 24, 1919, in Sweet Springs, she was the daughter of the late George Lemmons and Grace LaRue Lemmons. On July 11, 1942, she married William H. "Bill" Neece, who survives of the home. She had lived in Sweet Springs most of her life and was a member of First Christian Church and its CWF. She was a homemaker and a member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 90 in Sweet Springs, S.A.T. Club and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Additional survivors include one son, Jack Neece of Kansas City; one daughter, Willa Mae Vaught of Sweet Springs; two sisters, Alma Lee Sevier of Houstonia and Polly Elsea of Sweet Springs; four grandchildren; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters.
