W.J. "Bob" Heim, 89, of rural Sweet Springs, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004, at Sweet Springs Villa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs. William W. Harlow will officiate. Pianist Dan Wilcoxon will play "The Great Speckled Bird," "Rock of Ages" and "Amazing Grace." Pallbearers will be Dude Sims, Vernon Sylvester, David Long, Don Wilcoxon, Earl Fain Jr. and Ron Henley. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Trautman and Junior Henley. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs. Friends may call after 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Born Jan. 15, 1915, in Saline County, he was the son of the late William Heim and Jenny Jones Heim. On July 30, 1944, he married Frances Wilcoxon, who survives. He had lived in rural Sweet Springs his entire life and was a retired farmer. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Sweet Springs.
Additional survivors include one son, Dan Heim of rural Sweet Springs; one daughter, Ruth Ann Heim of Overland Park, Kan.; one grandson; four stepgrandchildren; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister.
