Arthur W. "Coon" "Mac" McDonough, 85, formerly of Marshall, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2004, in Clarkdale, Ariz.
A memorial service was held Friday, Sept. 10, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Clarkdale. Memorials are suggested to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 1195, Clarkdale, AZ.
Born Oct. 3, 1918, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Thomas Edward McDonough and Nellie Jane McDonough. On Dec. 5, 1944, in San Diego, Calif., he married Joan E. Belden, who survives of the home. They lived in El Cajon, Calif., for over 30 years, where he worked as a salesman for Glidden Paints. Upon retirement, the couple moved to Clarkdale, Ariz. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Marines as a platoon sergeant.
Additional survivors include two sons, Thomas A. McDonough of Mesquite, Texas, and Gary L. McDonough of Alpine, Calif.; one daughter, Lucy J. St. John, of Hyampom, Calif.; one sister, Mary Frances Coad of Marshall; one brother, Charles R. McDonough of Marshall; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
