Effie Elaine Irving, 92, of Marshall, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Mt. Moriah cemetery in Slater.
Born June 28, 1912, in Nelson, she was the daughter of the late Selsus and Verni Conway Everage. She married Alex Irving, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist Church in Marshall, and was a homemaker and foster grandparent. She attended school in Saline County and was a lifelong resident of the county.
Survivors include four daughters, Della Jackson of Douglasville, Ga., Vivian Johnson of Culver City, Calif., Adlene Belcher of Kansas City, Kan., and Geraldine Hickman of Kansas City, Kan.; two sons, John Irving of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Theodore Irving of Alma, Ark.; 14 grandchildren and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Fannie Banks and Alice Kynard.
