Clara M. Stober, 75, of rural Marshall, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004, at Sweet Springs Villa in Sweet Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at First Baptist Church in Sweet Springs. Rev. Charles R. Ahlemann and Rev. James R. West will officiate. Pallbearers will be Monroe Perkins, Coral "Corky" Stober, Lawrence Ownby, Charlie Hall, Leon Bridges and Steve Perkins. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at the church. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Memorials are suggested to Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Born Feb. 21, 1929, in Woodward, Okla., she was the daughter of the late Owen and Bessie Darbar Scharnhorst. On Sept. 3, 1950, she married Morris R. Stober, who survives of the home. She had lived in Saline County since 1949, living in the Sweet Springs community. She had worked for Sweet Springs Community Hospital, Banquet Foods in Marshall, Sweet Springs High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sweet Springs.
Additional survivors include two sons, Dean Stober of Sweet Springs and Kenneth E. Gann of the state of Nebraska; one brother, Ernest Scharnhorst of Concordia; one sister, Betty Scott of Woodward, Okla.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John Scharnhorst and Bobby Scharnhorst; and two sisters, Ruby Carol Scharnhorst and Donna Lou Webster.
