Mary Belle Boling, 95, of Slater, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Rev. Robert Sisney will officiate. Organist Bethany Weiker will play "How Great Thou Art" and "It is Well With My Soul." Pallbearers will be Richard L. Brzuchalski, Dale Brzuchalski, Curtis Morgan, Terry Jordan, Terry Sandwith and Vernon Haynes. Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Big Bend Retreat or the charity of the donor's choice.
Born March 1, 1909, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Fannie McCord Huffman. On April 16, 1938, in Lexington, she married Jesse M. Boling, who preceded her in death Oct. 23, 1978. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Slater and a 1951 graduate of Missouri Valley College. She taught elementary education in rural Saline County schools and Slater public schools for 53 years before her retirement.
Survivors include one stepson; one stepdaughter; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, one sister and one stepson.
