Erma Mildred Bywaters, 92, of Marshall, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, at Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Rev. Dave Huck will officiate. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church in the care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.
Born Aug. 21, 1912, in St. Joseph, she was the daughter of the late A.D. Woodward and Erma Evans Woodward. On June 19, 1934, in St. Joseph, she married Price Bywaters, who preceded her in death March 12, 1987. Her family moved to Marshall in the early 1950s. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Circle V and the Keystone Sunday School Class. She volunteered much of her time working in the church kitchen. She was also a member of the Forum Club for several years, and had helped deliver Meals on Wheels. She was a caring mother and her hobbies were cooking, baking, exchanging recipes.
Survivors include one son, Carlton Bywaters and wife Phyllis Wagle Bywaters of Jacksonville, Fla.; one daughter, Marcia Dowell and husband Jack of New Cambria; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
