Robert K. "Kirt" Garnett, 60, of Slater, died Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, at First Baptist Church in Slater. Rev. Robert Sisney will officiate. Friends may call Tuesday morning prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will be in the Rehoboth Cemetery in Slater. Memorials are suggested to Boy Scout Troop 41 or Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice.
Born Jan. 30, 1944, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Edna May Fisher Garnett. On Feb. 13, 1965, in Slater, he married Ida Jane Murray, who survives of the home. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Slater. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam era and a member of the American Legion Post No. 78 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4367, both in Slater.
Additional survivors include one brother, William F. Garnett of Scottsdale, Ariz.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one twin sister in infancy.
