Beverly Jean Ezell, 77, of rural Marshall, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, at The Living Center in Marshall.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Longwood Cemetery in Pettis County. William W. Harlow will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to Missouri Lions Eye Bank or Ellis Fischel Cancer Center.

Born July 26, 1927, in Wichita, Kan., she was the daughter of the late Alvin Virgil Butts and Geneva Georgia Tyson Butts. On March 14, 1947, she married John Belwood Ezell, who survives of the home. She was a graduate of Rosedale High School in Kansas City and a 1972 graduate of Missouri Valley College in Marshall, where she received a bachelor of science degree in education. She had lived in Saline County most of her life and was a school teacher in Miami before teaching at the Marshall Habitation Center. She was a member of Longwood Methodist Church.

Additional survivors include one daughter, Cheryl Jean Weinrich of Aurora; one son, Michael J. Ezell of Marshall; one brother, Don Butts of Springfield; two sisters, Judy Salazar of Aurora and Jackie Unger of Lake of the Ozarks; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jackie Donald Butts.
