Hattie Smith, 93, of Slater, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.

Cremation. Memorials graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Slater. Rev. Lynn Elmore will officiate. Memorials are suggested to Second Baptist Church in Slater. Weiker Funeral Home of Slater is in charge of the arrangements.

Born Feb. 19, 1911, in Boxspring, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Joe and Diana Boyd Taylor. On Aug. 20, 1963, in Toledo, Ohio, she married William E. Smith, who preceded her in death July 13, 1991. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Slater.

Survivors include several greatnieces and greatnephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters.
