Jean Ware, 59, of Higginsville, formerly of Waverly, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at Central Christian Church in Higginsville. Pastor Cheryl Sanders officiated. Pianist Patty Lashure played "Just a Closer Walk with Thee" and "Praise Him, Praise Him." Pallbearers were Anthony Branson, Don Kemerling, Charles Ernst, David Thaller, Kenny Branson, Gary Sanders, Jim Cox and Leland Buckler. Burial was in Waverly Cemetery in Waverly. Memorials are suggested to Central Christian Church of Higginsville.
Born Nov. 16, 1944, in Waverly, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Daniel Ware Sr. and Florence Loretta Straub Ware. She graduated from Santa Fe High School and had worked as a developmental assistant at the Higginsville Habilitation Center for 24 years. She was an elder at Central Christian Church of Higginsville and was also president of the Lafayette County Christian Women's Fellowship/Women's Ministries.
Survivors include two sisters, Mildred Ernst of Grand Pass and Grace Kemerling of Riverside; and one brother, Joe Ware Jr. of Deepwater.
