Richard Lee Bossaller Jr., 63, of Gilliam, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, at Gilliam Baptist Church. Rev. Tom Rowland and Rev. Chris Weber will officiate. Organist Bethany Weiker will play "How Great Thou Art," "One Day at a Time" and "In the Garden." Pallbearers will be Billy Summers, Bill Jacobson, Tom Boehner, Mike Knox, Charlie Gunthrie and Eric Rowland. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Hartung and Dave Johnston. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Burial with military rites will in the Slater City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
Born Feb. 2, 1941, in Boonville, he was the son of the late Richard L. and Cora Strodtman Bossaller. On Feb. 2, 1963, in Gilliam, he married Patricia Lee Boyd, who survives of the home. He was a member of the Gilliam Baptist church and a U.S. Army veteran. He owned and operated Bossaller Service Station in Slater for many years and later worked at the Slater school cafeteria.
Survivors include one son, Todd Bossaller of Marshall; one daughter, Connie Duncan of Gilliam; two brothers, Eldon Bossaller of Armstrong and Harold Dean Bossaller of Columbia; one sister, Barbara Morrison of Boonville; and three grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son in infancy, Jeffrey Bossaller.
