Luetta M. Day, 88, of Marshall, died Satuday, Aug. 14, 2004, at Mar-Saline Manor Care Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, at Sweeney Reser Wills Funeral Home in Marshall. Rev. Justin Taylor will officiate. Organist Ramona Bullington will accompany Stephanie Clause, singing "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art." Pallbearers will be Kenneth Clause, Larry Clause, Dusty Crawford, Butch Daleen, Mike Little and Barney Taylor. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Marshall.
Born Oct. 20, 1915, in Blue Lick, she was the daughter of the late George W. Nixon and Cora Luse Nixon. On July 24, 1932, in Marshall, she married Robert Day, who preceded her in death April 30, 1973. She was a resident of Marshall and Saline County all of her life, and a member of the Community of Christ Church in Marshall.
Survivors include one daughter, Anna M. Taylor of Marshall; one brother, George T. Nixon of Osceola; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert E. Day; two brothers and one sister.
