Mary L. Schroeder, 69, of rural LaMonte, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at LaMonte Christian Church. Rev. Gene Smith will officiate. Pallbearers will be Terry VanNatta, Ray Tyler, Chester Plummer, Charles Brant, Raymond Higgins, Roger Zimmerschied, Gale Culler and Larry Clear. Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13, at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to West Central Christian Camp Building Fund or Show-Me Christian Youth Home.
Born Apr. 26, 1935, in LaMonte, she was the daughter of Clarence and Edith French Clark. On Nov. 27, 1954, at Mt. Zion Christian Church, she married Elroy Schroeder, who survives. She was a 1953 graduate of Sweet Springs High School and a member of LaMonte Christian Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for several years and was active in the Ladies Bible Study group. She was active in the Martha's Ladies GROUP organization. She had cooked at West Central Christian Service Camp and worked as a medication tech at Good Shepard Nursing Home in Concordia.
Additional survivors include two sons, Troy Schroeder of LaMonte and Eric Schroeder of Raymore; four daughters, Janice Dowdy of Belton, Teresa Clausen of LaMonte, Anita Baude of Overland Park, Kan., and Kimberly Harding of Warrensburg; one sister, Lillian Lunsford of Bethany; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Scott Neal Schroeder.
