Virginia Marie "Ginny" Kercher, 73, of Blackburn, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at Sweet Springs Villa in Sweet Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mt. Leonard. Pastor Tim Miille will officiate. Pallbearers will be Rick Kiehl, Tony Cliburn, David Foose, Gene Foose, Justin Snapp, Jason Beerman and Jeremy Snapp. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Blackburn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or Sweet Springs Villa.
Born Dec. 2, 1930, in Bayside, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Vincent Swislosky and Pearl Shafer Swislosky. On Aug. 28, 1949, she married Donald W. Kercher, who survives of the home. She had lived in the Blackburn area since 1961 and was a homemaker. She also worked in the restaurant business. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Blackburn.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Linda Lou Foose of Blackburn and Dona Lynn Reid of Marshall Junction; two sisters, Clara Kinsley of Copague, N.Y., and Dorthea Markland of the state of Florida; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister in infancy.
