James Randall "Jim" Swisher, 17, of Marshall, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall. Prayer service will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, at St. Peter Catholic Church with visitation following from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to Sisters of St. Joseph or St. Peter Catholic Church in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.

Born June 10, 1987, in Columbia, he was the son of Albert Randall Swisher and Sharon Ann Donovan Swisher, who survive of the home. He had lived in Marshall his entire life and was a graduate of St. Peter School. He would have started his senior year at Marshall High School later this month. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, where he was active in the youth organization. He was president of Marshall FFA Chapter and District 6 FFA secretary, vice president of Marshall Student Council and was on the MHS Academic Team. He had achieved the black belt in tae-kwon-do and had been active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.

Additional survivors include his paternal grandparents, Frank and Katherine Ann Swisher of rural Marshall; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James Patrick Donovan and Eileen O'Brien Donovan.
