Edith L. Brooks, 93, of Windsor, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at Warrensburg Manor Nursing Home in Warrensburg.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at Hadley Funeral Home in Windsor. Brother Don Nelson will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be at the Laurel Oak Cemetery in Windsor. Memorials are suggested to Windsor Assembly of God Church in care of the funeral home.

Born Dec. 3, 1910, in Richmond, she was the daughter of the late Walter L. Williams and Nellie Mae Hedrick Williams. On Sept. 5, 1951, in Conway, Ark., she married William Elza Brooks, who preceded her in death on April 4, 1980. She was a homemaker and a member of Windsor Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Julia Mae "Judy" Blalock of Marshall, Iona Ruth Dickey of Slater and Dorothy Jean Winnie of Centerview; one sister, Myrtle Gorham of Richmond; two stepsons, Herbert Brooks of Kansas City and Frank Brooks of Windsor; two stepdaughters, Riletta Cooper of Windsor and Thelma Bjolstead of Warsaw; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; 19 stepgrandchildren; 47 stepgreat-grandchildren and 33 stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Kenneth Williams; four sisters, Hazel Farmer, Nellie Sullivan, Temple Smith and Helen Hedrick; one stepson, Eldon Brooks; and two grandchildren.
