John Marshall Borchers, 20, of Blackburn, died Friday, July 30, 2004, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Blackburn. Pastor Glenn Nowack will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Pallbearers will be James D. Russell III, Christopher A. Sassmann, Justin R. Krause, Patrick W. Collette, A. Matthew Hostetter, Nathan Schmidt, Lynne William Borchers, Jeremy Dale Lorenzen and Adam Mueller. Burial will be in Blackburn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
Born April 22, 1984, in Marshall, he was the son of David N. Borchers and Diana Krause Borchers of Blackburn. He was a 2002 graduate of Santa Fe High School and a 2002 graduate of Lex-La-Ray Vocational Technical School in Lexington. He had lived in Blackburn his entire life and was subcontractor for Marquess Construction Company. He was a member of Waverly Lions Club and a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
Additional survivors include his fiancée, Shannon Marie Crusha of Blackburn; one sister, Jacqueline Rose Borchers of Blackburn; paternal grandmother, Rosa Lee Borchers of Sedalia; maternal grandmother, Wanda Krause of Blackburn; maternal grandfather Marshall Krause and Pat Anglen of Marshall; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, H.T. "Buddy" Borchers; one aunt, Regina Morris, and one uncle, Terry Borchers.
