Teddy J. Muse, 59, of Slater, died Saturday, July 24, 2004, at his home.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, at First Baptist Church in Slater. Pastor Robert Sisney officiated. Burial was in the Slater City Cemetery. George Smith, Shannon Smith, Sean Korte, Glenn Wehmeyer, Dean Wehmeyer and Dale Wehmeyer served as pallbearers. Billy Taylor, Harold Morton, Michael Suttner, Richie Cooper, Phillip Wymore, Mike Taylor and Berkley Smith served as honorary pallbearers. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home.
Born Oct. 15, 1944 in Mineral Wells, Texas, he was the son of the late Teddy L. Muse and Emma L. Nease Muse, who survives of Niangua. On Sept. 27, 1963, in Marshall, he married Mae A. Cobb, who survives of the home. He worked many years in the concrete business, contributing to projects such as re-decking the Glasgow bridge and construction of the Grand Rivers bridge in Brunswick. He owned and operated Grandpa and Grandma's Mini Mart with his wife and also served on Slater City Council.
Survivors also include one son, Robert L. Muse of Glasgow; one daughter, Linda K. Cunningham of Centralia; one sister, Pauletta Dunn of Niangua and nine grandchildren.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one son, Teddy G. Muse.
