Bill Orville Marquand, 83, of Marshall, died Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at Mar-Saline Manor Care Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 16, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Rev. Terry Schmelzenbach will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 15, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Memorials are suggested to Marshall Church of the Nazarene.
Born Aug. 3, 1920, in Lake City, Kan., he was the son of the late Orville W. Marquand and Mildred Durfee Marquand. On June 29, 1947, he married Stella Ann Gregory, who survives of the home. He had lived in Marshall since 1956 and worked for Marshall public schools, retiring in 1982. He had also worked as a security guard for Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He attended Marshall Church of the Nazarene.
Additional survivors include four daughters, Wilma DeGraffenreid of Marshall, Connie Reeder of Columbus, Ohio, Vonda Flowers of Golden, Colo., and Kerry Larson of Lakewood, Colo.; two sons, John Marquand of Denver, Colo., and William "Billy" Marquand of Marshall; three brothers, Brice Marquand of Lake Oswego, Ore., Dean Marquand of Waldport, Ore., and Dale Marquand of Vancouver, Wash.; two sisters, Barbara Linn of Durango, Colo., and Audra Molinsky of Medford, Ore.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
