Delores P. Harms, 67, of rural Sweet Springs, died Sunday, July 11, 2004, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sweet Springs. Pastor James Dahlke will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Memorials are suggested to Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice, the American Cancer Society or Christ Lutheran Church.
Born Oct. 5, 1936, in Concordia, she was the daughter of the late Martin J. Meyer and Caroline Schelp Meyer. On Nov. 10, 1956, she married Alfred J. Harms, who survives of the home. She was a 1954 graduate of Concordia High School and a member of the Sweet Springs American Legion Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She worked at Mailwright in Sweet Springs and for Kansas City Life Insurance.
Survivors include four sisters, Valeda Schnakenberg of Concordia, Sylvia Henley of Sweet Springs, Ethelyn Carrender of Sweet Springs and Gloria Trent of Independence; three brothers, LaVern Meyer of Concordia, Verlon Meyer of Newburg Park, Calf., and Richard Meyer of Shell Knob; and several nieces and nephews.
