Rebecca L. Baker, 26, of rural Slater, died Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, as a result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 3, at First Baptist Church in Slater. Rev. Pam Sebastian officiated. Organist Bethany Weiker played "One Day at a Time" and "Amazing Grace." Burial was in Good Hope Cemetery north of Gilliam. Memorials are suggested to a trust fund for Daylynn Baker in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born Feb. 3, 1978, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Russell Ballowe and Donna Campbell Ballowe, who survives of Slater. On March 23, 2002, in Slater, she married Gary C. Baker, who survives of the home. She was a 1997 Slater High School graduate and had lived in the Slater area her entire life.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Daylynn Baker of the home; three brothers, Rusty Ballowe of Gilliam, Robby Ballowe of Ozark and Randy Ballowe of Kansas City; and one sister, Jeweletta Head of Slater.
