Houston Elliott Mull, 15, of rural Malta Bend, died Thursday, July 1, 2004, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall. Father Kevin Gormley officiated. Pallbearers were Craig Solomon, Josh Mann, Kent Roscher, Brian Wallace, Gabe Norman, Caleb Vandiver, JoJo Samson, Adam Arth, Joey Rector, Cody Clemons, Colin Mull and Matt Kiso. A prayer service was held at 5 p.m. Monday, July 5, at the church, with visitation from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Burial was in Mount St. Mary's Cemetery near Shackelford. Memorials are suggested to the Houston Mull FFA Scholarship Fund or St. Peter Catholic Church in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Houston was an organ donor.

Born April 7, 1989, in Marshall, he was the son of Robin B. Mull and Brenda Gorrell Mull, who both survive of the home. He had lived in rural Malta Bend his entire life, attending kindergarten through eighth grade at Malta Bend schools. He had completed his freshman year at Marshall High School, where he played football and was a member of the Marshall FFA chapter. He was active in the Work to Win 4-H chapter for several years and was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.

Additional survivors include one brother, Bradley A. Mull of the home; paternal grandparents, Bob and Mary Ann Mull of Malta Bend; maternal grandparents, Chuck and Carolyn Gorrell of Malta Bend; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
