Robert H. "Bob" Potter, 80, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, June 27, 2004, at Oak View Skilled Care Center in Jefferson City.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 2, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors-Jefferson City Chapel. Rev. Murl Nash will officiate. Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Interment with full military honors will be in Riverview Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the charity of donor's choice.
Born Dec. 8, 1923, in Lexington, he was the son of the late Newton and Catherine L. Hale Potter. He was manager of sales at Behlen Manufacturing in California and also worked for MFA Hardware and an electronics store in Marshall. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in Italy during World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foriegn Wars, American Legion and Masonic Lodge and enjoyed woodworking, fishing and target shooting.
Survivors include one son, Greg Potter of Jefferson City; one daughter, Cindy Glass of Kansas City; six grandchildren, Jeff Comstock, Cindy Paige, Chris L. Potter, Lindsey Glass, Allison Glass and Melanie Glass; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Kinchloe, Catherine Cochran and Helen Hanson; and two brothers, Newton Potter and Wilford Potter.
