George Clyde Anthony, 94, of Ashland, formerly of Marshall, died Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at University Hospital in Clinics in Columbia.
Funeral services will be at held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 26, at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia. Rev. Les Cassil will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 25, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Columbia.
Born Feb. 3, 1910, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Sherman T. and Nancy E. Freeman Anthony. In April 1935, he married Margaret "Margot" Schmidt, who preceded him in death. In October 1981, in Columbia, he married Mildred Steward Bradsher, who survives of Ashland. He retired from Douglas Aircraft in 1973. He attended Calvary Baptist Church in Columbia.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Trudy Sommers of Ashland and Bonnie Washburn of Oviedo, Fla.; stepgrandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by six siblings, Irene Kaumsiek, Ozella Livingston Bensley, Russell Anthony, Robert Anthony, Sherman T. Anthony and Eugene Anthony.
