Betty May Heilman, 76, of rural Marshall, died Thursday, June 3, 2004, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 5, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall. Father Kevin Gormley will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 4, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Bryan Heilman, Dan Heilman, Ben Heilman, Michael Heilman, Bryan Harris and Michael Zika. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church.
Born Dec. 24, 1927, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Raymond North and Roseanna Haines North. On Sept. 6, 1946, in Marshall, she married Danny Heilman, who preceded her in death July 29, 1997. She had lived in Marshall most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of Daughters of Isabella and Country Patchwork Quilters Guild.
Survivors include three sons, William Heilman of Marshall, Raymond Heilman of St. Louis and John D. Heilman of Rolla; three daughters, Anne Thorp of Marshall, Mary Jo Barnett of Wooster, Ohio, and Julia Doering of Oak Creek, Wis.; one brother, James North of Marshall; two sisters, Alice Markes of Marshall and Dora Richards of Sedalia; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Raydene Powell, and one brother, Guy North.
