Charles A. "Chuck" Moore, 69, of Sweet Springs, died Sunday, May 23, 2004, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 27, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs. Rev. James West will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Adam Moore, Kevin Moore, Rick McMillin, Eric Thomas, Josh Cochran, Roger Hall and Charles "Cam" Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildren. Burial with military rites will be in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Memorials are suggested to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591 in Sedalia.
Born Nov. 17, 1934, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Robert Hall Moore and Ruth Scharnhorst Moore. On April 9, 1956, he married Mary C. Alflen, who survives of the home. He had lived in Saline County most of his life and was a retired truck driver. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and member of VFW Post 2591 in Sedalia. He was a Baptist.
Additional survivors include three sons, Ted Moore and wife Terry of Sweet Springs, Steve Moore and wife Jennifer of Elk Grove, Ill., and Paul Moore of Sweet Springs; four daughters, Dena McMillin and husband Don of Sedalia, Donna Sua of Sweet Springs, Linda Zaragoza and husband Kenny of Houstonia and Susan Moore of Raytown; three sisters, Violet Jean Hicks and Joan Carrender, both of Sweet Springs, and Dena Koch of Concordia; one brother, Bobby G. Moore of Sweet Springs; 21 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
