A former Marshall soccer coach faces felony charges, including statutory rape, following accusations made by a Marshall High School student.
Rayshawn E. Mars, 29, who is no longer employed by the district, was charged Thursday with having intercourse with a 14-year-old student.
A felony complaint filed by Don Stouffer, Saline County prosecuting attorney, charges Mars with class C felony statutory rape in the second degree and class C felony enticement of a child.
The alleged incident occurred in July 2003 at Mars' residence in Marshall. According to court documents, Mars provided police with a statement in which he admitted kissing the girl, but denied having intercourse with her.
