Kelly Land, 34, of rural Miami, died Tuesday, May 18, 2004, as the result of an automobile accident in Saline County.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 21, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. William W. Harlow will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 20, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be J.P. Land, Greg Land, Tommy Land, Ralph Palmer, Clark Smith, Shawn Smith and Mark Fizer. Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Vesser, Josh Clements and Terry Gibson. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to the Abagail and Karley Land Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
Born Sept. 29, 1969, in Marshall, he was the son of Virgil A. "Harvey" Land Jr., who survives of rural Miami, and the late Linda Kay Rader Land. On Aug. 25, 1990, he married Jennifer Mowry, who survives of the home. He had lived in Saline County his entire life. He was a truck driver for Hahn & Phillips in Marshall and farmed with his father at Land Farms. He had also worked at Messer Machine Shop in Slater for 10 years. He was a 1988 Marshall High School graduate and was currently serving as a school board member for the Miami School District.
Additional survivors include his stepmother, Jeanie Land of rural Miami; two daughters, Abagail Land and Karley Land, both of the home; and one brother, Brent Land of Marshall.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robbie Land.
