George Albert Smith, 70, of Grand Pass, died Monday, May 17, 2004, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, at Victory Christian Church in Waverly. Rev. Jerry Curry will officiate. The body will lie in state after 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, at Gibson Funeral Home in Waverly. Burial will be in Grand Pass Community Cemetery in Grand Pass. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton, MO 64633.
Born May 26, 1933, in Saline County, he was the son of the late Milton Hume and Ida Ethel Drummonds Smith. On May 26, 1952, in Carrollton, he married Shirley Ann Smith, who survives of the home. He attended Grand Pass schools and had been a construction laborer and member of Heavy Construction Local Union No. 663 in Kansas City.
Additional survivors include two sons, Stephen Smith and George Anthony Smith, both of Grand Pass; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
