Randal Chadwick Luscombe, 89, of Marshall, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Pilot Grove. Rev. Dan Faust will officiate. Military honors will be conducted during the service by the American Legion. Honorary pallbearers will be John Lang, Ed Fahrendorf, Raymond Widel, Darrell Kusgen, David Hutchinson, Terry Luscombe, Harold Craig and Gale Craig. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The body will be cremated and buried at a later date in Perry, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to Comfort Care Hospice in Cameron.
Born Sept. 6, 1914, in Dolliver, Iowa, he was the son of the late James and Catherine Ernst Luscombe. On Sept. 15, 1946, he married Berneice Payton, who survives of the home. He was a World War II veteran and a life member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a farmer in Iowa until 1967, when he moved to Blackwater, farming there before moving to Marshall in 1976.
Additional survivors include one son, John Luscombe of Blackwater; one daughter, Martha Smith of Higginsville; one brother, Arthur Luscombe of Dolliver, Iowa; one sister, Mary Carr of Grove City, Minn.; five grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters.
