Velma L. Forgey, 80, of Marshall, died Thursday, May 6, 2004, at Sweet Springs Villa in Sweet Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. William W. Harlow will officiate. Pianist Julie Lewis will play "In the Garden" and "Just As I Am." Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 7, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Born March 4, 1924, in Herndon, she was the daughter of the late Lemuel Wallace Brown and Nealie Lorisa Brown. On Feb. 29, 1948, she married Paul Derrel Forgey, who preceded her in death in 1978. She had lived in Saline County her entire life and worked in the fitting room at International Shoe Company in Marshall for 36 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Doris J. Skinner and husband Wes of Marshall; one son, William Dale Forgey of Marshall; one grandson, Derrel Skinner; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Sparks of Marshall and Betty Adams of Blaine, Minn.; two brothers, Kenneth Wayne Randell and Bobby Joe Brown, both of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
